Bit late now of course, but when Google first bought Jaiku I think they could easily have overcome Twitter's 'first to market' advantage with the combination of the Google brand and the superior feature-set of Jaiku (especially as it was, before the AppEngine version removed all the feed syndication features).

What a waste of an opportunity.

I just noticed that we lost the feeds feature when we moved to AppEngine too. Google really buttfucked Jaiku, didn't they? No reach-round.

Apparently the old Jaiku mobile client isn't working now that it's all running on AppEngine, and the new version isn't ready yet. Fail?

Not much use unless somebody adds syndication features to map between them, but cool anyway.

So Jaiku is finally making the move to AppEngine - today. I hope it goes smoothly, I guess. Not that anyone I know actually uses Jaiku.
